Questions for Small Group and Personal Reflection

1. As Pastor PJ was describing the church membership ranking system, how did you feel? What thoughts went through your mind?

2. How does putting our faith in terms of “participation in the Kingdom of God” change how you view it?

3. Without using people’s names, are there examples of favoritism you have witnessed in the church? If so…

– How were people being favored?

– Why do you think it was happening?

– How could/should it have been handled differently?

4. Who is missing from our fellowship who could/should be with us? In other words, are there people we have intentionally or unintentionally been avoiding/neglecting?

5. Read James 2:12-13. If we will be judged based on our acts of mercy shown to others, how is this NOT salvation by works? (which would contradict Ephesians 2:8-9).
