Scriptures to Review: Mark 7:24-30
– Compare and contrast the woman in Mark 7 to Jairus in Mark 5:21-24,35-43. How are they similar/different?
– When you read Mark 7:27 how do you feel? What are your initial thoughts/reactions?
– In Mark 7:27 do you think Jesus was being rude/dismissive?
If so, does that change your view of Jesus? If not, what was Jesus’ intent?
– It was shared in the sermon: “Often, we think of Jesus as “precious moments” Jesus. Meek and mild. Soft spoken. Non-confrontational. We prefer this version of Jesus. We want Love is lovely Jesus. Jesus-light.” Do you agree with this? Why/Why not? When you think of Jesus, how do you picture him?
– The gentile woman models for us approaching Jesus with: Urgency, Humility, Persistence, and Confidence. Of these four, which do you feel you need to improve in the most? Of these four, which do you feel need to be better prioritized in our church?
