Don’t Ask: Doesn’t Science Disprove Christianity?
Questions for Small Group Discussion and/or Personal Reflection:
It was said in the message: “For a long time, Science and the Church seem to have had this divisive and adversarial relationship that forces you to choose one side or the other.” Do you agree with that statement? If so, why do you think there is this “either/or” approach to science and the church? Have you personally experienced this tension between science and faith either in school or somewhere else?
Why is it important to ask, “Who does God say we are?” instead of “What does science say we are?” What are the answers to those questions?
What additional aspects of creation/science, not mentioned in the sermon, have helped you see and appreciate God more?
In addressing these difficult questions, our goal is not to just win debates, it’s to point people to Jesus. How can we use science and the wonder of Creation to point people to God’s salvation in/through Jesus?
