Questions for Small Group Discussion and/or Personal Reflection

–        What does it practically look like to “come boldly to the throne of our gracious God”? (Hebrews 4:16). Why do we sometimes lack boldness in how we approach God?

–        One of the main sermon points was: Jesus is our great high priest who submitted his will to the will of the Father. If the Trinity  (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) exists in an equal relationship, how and why would Jesus submit to the Father? (See Hebrews 5:8 and Philippians 2:5-8)

–        Read 1 Peter 2:5 & 2:9. When you read “You are his holy priests” and “you are royal priests” what is your reaction? How does it make you feel?

–        Jesus offers us immeasurable mercy and grace. Who is God leading you to offer mercy/grace to? How, specifically, can you do that this week?
