Questions for Small Group Discussion and/or Personal Reflection Hebrews Chapters 11

– Which of the Biblical characters listed in Hebrews 11 (Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, The prophets.) Are you drawn to the most? What questions do you have about this list? What heroes of the faith in the New Testament are you most drawn to?

– Share a time when your faith was active, meaning “lived out trust in God, especially in times of difficulty and/or uncertainty.”

– Who are some of the “great cloud of witnesses” that you have known personally that have shaped your faith?

– What does it practically look like to “throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles” (Heb. 12:1)? How do we do that effectively?

– What does it mean to “fix our eyes on Jesus”? What other things do we tend to fix our eyes on? What, specifically, can your group members do to help you to keep your eyes/focus on Jesus?
