Questions for Small Group Discussion and/or Personal Reflection

Scriptures to Review: Matthew 24:3-44, Luke 12:35, Romans 13:12-14

–        What is something specific you love and appreciate about the Advent/Christmas season? Do you find this season more busy/stressful than normal? Why/Why not?
–        Have everyone in the group read Matthew 24:3-44 silently to themselves. How do you feel after reading that? What stands out? What observations or questions do you have?

–        Jesus tells us that his return will be a time of false messiahs, wars, famines, natural disasters, and the church enduring intense persecution. With many of these things happening now, do you think we are close to Jesus’ return?

–        How, practically, does someone clothe themselves with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ? (Romans 13:14)

–        Jesus says, “Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning” (Luke 12:35). It was shared in the message that “none of that is possible without grace”. What does that mean? Do you agree? How do you define/understand grace?
