Small Group/Personal Reflection Questions

  • What was your first car? What did you like/dislike about it?
  • How do you define/understand “mercy”?
  • Read Micah 7:18. What is your reaction to God delighting in showing us mercy? 
  • In what ways have you received mercy through someone else’s: Compassion, Respect, Generosity, or Forgiveness?
  • It was said in the sermon: “You cannot separate being a follower of Christ from being a person of mercy.” How do you react to that? 
  • Read Matthew 6:14-15 and Matthew 25:31-46. What is your initial reaction to these passages? Are these passages saying that our forgiveness and salvation are based in our acts of mercy toward others? Why/Why Not? Do these passages contradict Ephesians 2:8-9? 
  • In what way(s) specifically, are you excited to be a part of our church being an extension of God’s mercy to others? (feel free to share these with Pastor PJ).
