Scriptures to Review: Exodus 32, Psalm 136

–        We have spent the past 10 weeks studying the book of Exodus. What did you learn? What encouraged you? What did you find challenging/convicting?

–        What significant parallels do you notice between God’s work of salvation in Exodus and God’s work of salvation in/through Jesus?

–        Read out loud Exodus 32:1-2. Why didn’t Aaron just say “No”? How do Christ-followers today say “no” to ungodly cultural/societal expectations without becoming judgmental, legalistic, or unloving?

–        In your own words, what is an idol or idolatry? What are the most common modern-day idols? What are some practical ways that Christ-followers can avoid them?

–        Review the back-and-forth between God and Moses in Exodus 32:7-14. What do you think is going on here? Was God just testing Moses? If Moses didn’t speak up do you think God would have wiped out the Israelites?

–        Read out loud Exodus 34:6-7. How does this passage affect/inform our understanding of the golden calf passage?
