Questions for Small Group Discussion and/or Personal Reflection

Scriptures to Review: Exodus Chapters 7-10

–        God is continually upheld as a God of love and justice (grace and truth). Therefore, do you think it was fair for God to harden Pharaoh’s heart? Why/Why not? In doing so, did God remove Pharoah’s free will?

–        Wouldn’t it have been more loving for God to soften Pharaoh’s heart? Why do you think God didn’t do that instead?

–        Can you think of other instances in scripture where God used evil hearts/intentions for His glory and purposes?

–        Read Psalm 73:26. How do you feel and what thoughts to do have as you reflect on this verse?

–        Read Exodus 9:16. What does it practically look like for the Church and for individual Christ-followers to proclaim God throughout the earth?
–        Have you had a chance to read through the info packet on disaffiliation that was handed out? Did you look at any of the additional resources?
What are your thoughts/questions/concerns as our church enters this time of transition?
