Questions for Small Group Discussion and/or Personal Reflection
Scriptures to Review: Exodus Chapters 13-14
– Read Exodus 13:17-14:31 silently to yourselves. Is there a particular verse, phrase, or word that stands out most? What thoughts or feelings come to mind as you read this section?
– Moses tells the people “The Lord will fight for you…” (Ex. 14:14). Does the Lord still fight for us? If so, how? What does that look like today?
– Moses also tells the people “Do not be afraid. Stand firm…” (Ex. 14:13) and “…you need only to be still.” (Ex. 14:14). What has helped you do these things when facing difficulties?
– Is stillness difficult for you? Why/Why not?
– Have you had an experience with feeling God’s presence and hearing his voice more clearly through stillness? If so, in what way(s)?
