Before considering the questions, read Jonah Chapter 1 either silently, to yourselves or out loud.

What did Jonah’s actions in this chapter tell us about his theology (beliefs about God)?

Have you ever felt God calling you to something specific? What was it? How did you respond?

Do we have our own version of “Tarshish”? A time/place/attitude etc. in our lives where we want to be unreachable by God?

A big question in the book of Jonah is “What is my response to God being loving and merciful to those I feel don’t deserve it?” What are your initial thoughts/feelings/reactions to that question?
