Spiritual Gifts: Healing
Small Group/Personal Reflection Questions
From 9/15/24, Spiritual Gifts Series: Healing
Read Acts 3:1-16 out loud
- What is something interesting about this passage that stands out to you?
If someone were to say to you “The gift of healing was only for the apostles and the early church, not the modern day church.” How might you respond to that using: Scripture, Reasoning, Church Tradition, and your Personal Experience to back up your response.
(There is a lot here, I know. Take your time with it)
Say someone approached you claiming to be a “Faith Healer”. How might you respond?
What do you think about this quote from Susan Rohrer: “When God chooses to heal, it is a grace gift. That means healing is a totally undeserved blessing. Healing isn’t something God owes us. It’s not something we can somehow shame, obligate, or manipulate the Almighty into doing.”
God is not a formula or vending machine, particularly when it comes to our prayers for healing. But then, what role does faith have in facilitating/receiving healing?
The sermon concluded with: “It is a vital ministry of the Church to walk beside those who are sick and pray expectantly for their healing.”
- How have you seen this lived out well? What impact did it have?
